An Unsung Coach Hears Through the Noise of a Black Athlete's Dream
INSIGHTFUL AND HELPFUL!! A MUST READ!! FOR ATHLETES, PARENTS, TEACHERS AND COACHES!
An Unsung Coach gives you Coach Price’s step by step strategies on how to “play it forward” one young athlete at a time.
An Unsung Coach is a wake up call for young athletes who have a dream about who they can become. It challenges them to look beyond their self gratification of playing the game and helps them evaluate their potential to become team leaders or coaches who are willing and equipped to share their knowledge of sports on an administrative level.
Tony Price is the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Simmons College, Boston, Massachusetts. He got his start into coaching through his concern for the young people in underserved communities. Realizing that someone had to step up and make a difference, he organized a co-ed youth basketball league in one of Boston’s toughest neighborhoods. The league served as a catalyst for positive change bringing together young people and adults across territorial lines. In the fall of 2007 Coach Price was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame for his distinguished basketball career at his Alma mater.
